'22-'23 Season : Nov 20rd - May 21th
We are home to one of the best ski resort complexes in Japan. Kagura ski resort is three resorts in one, with the Mitsumata, Kagura and Tashiro areas providing a wide variety of ski runs, from gentle family slopes to the most challenging of advanced-level courses. This resort is also connected to the world-famous Naeba ski resort by the ‘Dragondola’ – the longest gondola in the world at 5.481 meters. This creates the largest ski resort complex in the Japanese Central Alps region, and the area boasts some of the best snow conditions in the country. We guarantee that you will be captivated by the stunning scenery of the surrounding mountain region. |

‘Onsen’ are hot-spring baths that use natural mineral water from a volcanic underground water source. The Echigo-Yuzawa area has the most onsen in Japan. Mitsumata is home to ‘Kai-do no Yu’, a traditional onsen with ‘rotemburo’ heated outside bath. This gives the ultimate Japanese bathing experience and is a great way to relax, especially after a hard days’ skiing or trekking in the mountains. |

Every year, the area hosts the world-famous Fuji Rock Festival, held at Naeba Ski resort. Over 100,000 festival goers visit the largest music festival in Japan. Mitsumata also holds a traditional summer festival every year, and there are various ski competitions held during the winter season.

During the heat of summer, the green environment of Mitsumata compared with the concrete and air-con of Tokyo causes a temperature difference of around 8ºc to 12ºc. This makes Mitsumata the perfect area for school trips, where sports and cultural activities can be held in comfort in the clean air of the Mitsumata mountains. |
